UGINOX Patina – bistabilized stainless steel available in K44 (0.5 mm thick). They contain 18% chromium, are stabilized with titanium and niobium and acquire a matt finish through natural patination. With an equivalent corrosion resistance to 316L, it is suitable for cold or warm roof specifications using systems such as self-supporting standing seam or cleated seam. Supplied in maximum widths of 1160mm these materials have a tensile strength which is greatly superior to that of copper, zinc and aluminium.
The tin coating reduces the metal’s natural polished appearance and is achieved by electroplating both sides. This enables a matt grey patina to develop which is reminiscent of lead and as a result, the product has been endorsed by English Heritage as an alternative where metal theft continues to pose a threat. UGINOX Patina K44 is easily soldered and can be worked in cold temperatures.
Note:- UGINOX Patina is it is not recommended for vertical fascias or soffits where the desired aesthetic may be delayed by natural rain washing.
